One of the reasons for forming PCDT was to provide the village with an entity capable of entering into an agreement with D&G Council either by formalising the existing temporary arrangement or by moving to asset transfer.
Both options are, in principle, open to the proposed Portpatrick Community Development Trust if the membership so decided. PCDT would, of course, need to go through a formal process of submitting and expression of interest, setting out the option to be pursued and negotiate the terms. These would then need to be brought back to the members (and also, it may be prudent at that stage to have a public consultation on the terms offered) and a decision made on the management or ownership of the Hall.
These are not decisions that the founding members can make. The Trust must be formed first. This has now happened and the EoI submitted.
