In addition, our colleagues at Legion Scotland are asking for our support to share information on their Just Giving Page for Poppy Appeal 2020 across social media networks and with all our contacts.
Councillor Archie Dryburgh, Armed Forces Champion said:
“Every year we see that people across Dumfries ad Galloway support the Poppy Scotland Appeal, and the Appeal want to thank you for your continued support. However, this year because of Covid19 this will be much harder to raise funds for this charity. In my role as both Armed Forces Champion for Dumfries and Galloway Council and as an Area Secretary for Legion Scotland, I am very aware of the significant increase in the needs of our Veterans and ex-Service community not only in Dumfries and Galloway but also across Scotland.
I am therefore asking our communities across Dumfries and Galloway to show your appreciation and help us not to forget, by displaying your Poppy and by making a small pledge to Poppy Scotland on the Just Giving Page for Poppy Appeal 2020.
I know that the people of Dumfries and Galloway will support this years’ appeal and for that we are all very grateful.”
