PCDT have leased the old dress shop at 7A— Main Street Portpatrick. The shop required extensive re-fit and we agreed a re-fit plan with the owners. The refit work is now largely completed. We would like to thank the support received from both funders and local businesses.
The Gatherin Place will be developed as a community resource centre and provides us with a registered office. We have installed broadband, wifi access and telephone – 01776 810 018.
All work has been done under covid-19 restrictions and has involved strip out of the old shop fittings, re-wiring, re-plumbing re-painting and new flooring throughout. We are delighted with the support of donations of materials, equipment and fittings received from local businesses thanks to:
· Anderson’s : Skirtings, plywood fixings
· Brush Strokes: All paint used
· Howden’s : Flooring, Doors
· Plumb Centre : All plumb fittings, new taps
· RS Windows : Various fitting
· Stranraer Carpet Co. Vinyl Flooring
· Travis Perkins : Kitchen Units and worktops, plywood sheeting, new sink
Thanks also to local people with particular thanks to And to local people ( A&S MacLeod, D Higgins, G McKee) for donations of furniture, and equipment.
As part of the refit we uncovered a fabulous reminder of Old Portpatrick – one of the orginal distrubution boards from the private electricity supply
We are delighted that we have been chosen as one of the local projects to receive support from Tesco Bags of Help scheme. This is to provide assistance for the final fit-out and is specifically aimed at providing support for mental health and wellbeing as part of the recovery.
